Ways to reduce emissions of harmful substances from the exhaust gases of modern diesel engines

<jats:p>The monograph examines the composition and toxic components of diesel engine exhaust gases, as well as their toxicological characteristics. The relationship between exhaust gas toxicity and a number of engine design and operational parameters has been established. The analysis of fuel efficiency and exhaust gas toxicity of diesel engines for transport purposes is carried out, and methods for optimizing engine parameters to achieve a balance between economic and environmental requirements are considered. The designs of systems and devices providing the controlled formation of optimized performance characteristics of diesel engines are presented. The effectiveness of reducing toxic emissions in the implementation of exhaust gas treatment systems and the use of alternative fuels is demonstrated. It is intended for specialists of transport and agricultural engineering enterprises, employees of research organizations involved in the development and improvement of diesel engines, as well as for students of specialized higher educational institutions.</jats:p>
