Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph is devoted to the problem of socialization of children and youth. Various aspects of the formation of social competence and literacy of children and youth are reflected, ways of developing a social position and social activity of an individual in the context of education and family upbringing are considered. The emphasis is placed on the need to prepare the younger generation for social service and for the implementation of social initiatives. The materials proposed in the monograph are addressed to organizers of youth work, advisers to the director of education and interaction with children's public associations, teachers, educational psychologists, social educators, parents. The monograph can be used in the process of teaching students of higher educational institutions in the following areas of training: "Organization of work with youth", "Pedagogical education", "Psychological and pedagogical education".</jats:p>
