Tactical medicine: providing first aid to the wounded on the battlefield

<jats:p>The textbook discusses the basic principles of tactical medicine, algorithms for first aid for various types of combat injuries, including bleeding, wounds, injuries to the musculoskeletal system, burns and blast damage. The methods of assessing the condition of the victim, techniques of applying tourniquets, bandages and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in extreme conditions are described. Special attention is paid to the stages of evacuation of the wounded, interaction with medical units, as well as issues of self-help and mutual assistance on the battlefield. The manual contains practical recommendations, illustrations and diagrams to facilitate the assimilation of the material. It is intended for training cadets of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the discipline "First aid" in the areas of training "Law and order enforcement", "Legal support for national security", "Psychology of official activity". It is suitable both for self-study and for use by teachers during first aid classes.</jats:p>
