<jats:p>Chapter 1 provides the title of the entire work, and details the time and place –Tiberias, near the Sea of Galilee – where the sentencing of Yeshu took place, as well as the identity of the persons involved. These include the Roman Caesar Tiberinus and the governor Pilatus, as well as several Jewish leaders, most of whom are unattested in other ancient sources.</jats:p>
