Abstract
<jats:p>As part of the publishing activities of the Institute for Migration Research, the scientific monograph India and South Asia: Ethnicity and the Creation of Nation-States by Dr. Sc. Ružica Čičak-Chand has been published. The book brings a complex, but systematically presented and consistent sequence of selected works by the author, a sociologist and Indologist, published during her professional career from 1984 to 2021, which largely coincides with her long-standing work at the Institute for Migration and Nationalities in Zagreb. The texts collected in this monograph deal with the topic of contemporary history and socio-political events that began in the period of modernization and globalization, and continue today, and which shaped the processes of the emergence of nation-states in the area of South Asia. The book is the result of the scientific research project "Croatia as an Immigration Country: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives" (HRIMIZ).</jats:p>
