Abstract

Abstract
This is a unique volume of transcultural dialogue in which Shannon Brincat brings together a diverse group of scholars who use a dialectical approach from across different philosophical and civilizational systems to examine a number of core problems in world politics. The volume is the first sustained dialogue between Marxian–Hegelian, Advaita, Buddhist, Daoist, Islamic, and Critical Realist traditions of theorizing within Global International Relations. Its intention is to illustrate how different peoples and cultures, across different times and contexts, developed dialectical forms of thinking which, despite their differences, share a common foundation that is highly productive for developing critical insights into contemporary global problems around, for instance, political community, human rights, and democracy.
