<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of contemporary oncology practice with a focus on palliative care. It covers the organisation of cancer services, clinical trials, and the main treatment modalities including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, and novel biological agents. The management of common solid tumours, such as lung, colorectal, breast, prostate, and upper gastrointestinal cancers, is summarised, alongside the principles of managing treatment side effects. Emphasis is placed on a multidisciplinary approach, the integration of supportive and palliative care from diagnosis, and the importance of balancing curative and palliative treatment intent to optimise quality of life throughout the disease journey.</jats:p>
