Abstract
This chapter focuses on evidence-based strategies for restoring function, reducing pain, and promoting safe return to activity following injury. It outlines key principles of assessment, goal setting, and progressive exercise prescription tailored to individual needs. The chapter emphasizes early mobilization, load management, and multidisciplinary collaboration between clinicians, coaches, and athletes. It also discusses modalities such as manual therapy, electrotherapy, and functional training. Rehabilitation is framed as a dynamic, patient-centred process aimed at optimizing physical performance, preventing reinjury, and supporting long-term athletic health and resilience. The chapter finishes by discussing rehabilitation plans for common sporting injuries, including chronic hip/groin pain, hamstring muscle injuries, and ankle sprains.
