<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Designing Compassion in Hospice Care: The Quiet Room examines how physical environments and emotional spaces shape the experience of hospice care for patients, families, and staff. It analyzes the relationship between architectural design, sensory cues, and the delivery of comfort-focused care. Drawing on clinical practice and human-centered design principles, it considers how light, sound, scent, objects, and spatial arrangement influence communication, presence, and emotional well-being. The work introduces the quiet room as both a physical model and an emotional framework for supporting meaning-making during end-of-life transitions. It explores how design elements interact with rituals, memory, and interdisciplinary care. By integrating environmental design with hospice philosophy, it offers a structured understanding of how spaces can support dignity, connection, and compassionate practice.</jats:p>
