Abstract
Post‐COVID syndrome, also known as Long COVID (LC), was an unknown condition prior to 2020 and has gained increased interest since. Nutritional assessment for people living with LC includes anthropometric assessment, biochemistry, clinical assessment, dietary assessment, economic and social assessment. Dietary management of fatigue overlaps with advice for chronic fatigue syndrome. Olfactory dysfunction quickly became one of the key clinical features of Coronavirus disease, COVID‐19, particularly with the earlier strains. There are several smell disorders, including parosmia, phantosmia, anosmia and hyposmia. There are many reasons why people with LC may need dietetic intervention during their recovery. Without proper support and nutritional counselling, it is likely that those struggling with LC will not reach their full rehab potential, and recovery will take much longer, adding to the burden on an already overstretched NHS.
