Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Health outcomes are defined as a change in the health of an individual, group of people, or population that is attributable to an intervention or series of health communication interventions. The purpose of this entry is to explore how technology relates to and impacts health outcomes. We draw from the notion of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to examine how communication with technology and information‐related processes is a critical structure that can positively influence health outcomes. Three types of health ICTs are described: information technologies, Web 2.0, and 3D represented technologies. We then link these ICTs to positive health outcomes through several examples.</jats:p>
