Abstract

<jats:p>Artificial Intelligence [AI] is gaining importance in the field of education, especially in the generation of information through automated systems. The objective of this study is to characterize the ChatGPT variable in research. A quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope and cross-sectional cohort was used to collect data from a sample of 24 students using a questionnaire. The findings characterize the tool as useful for generating research topics [70.8%] and new topics accurately [54.2%], in research papers [70.8%], and in constructing literature reviews [50.3%], effectively [70%], optimizing search time for literature review construction [70.8%]. The study's contribution lies in identifying the fundamental attributes that should be included in training programs to maximize the potential of ChatGPT in the academic context.</jats:p>
