Abstract

Abstract
This book is the fifth of six volumes of the series Studies in the Contract Laws of Asia, which examines the major topics in contract law across thirteen jurisdictions in Asia: China, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Volume V covers two important topics of contract law. First, it examines when one party can end the contract when the other party is in breach. Secondly, it analyses what happens when a change of circumstances due to unforeseeable events not attributable to either party makes performance impossible, extremely onerous, or valueless. The volume consists of a Welcome Address, 25 country reports, and a comparative conclusion.
